sara + brian are having twins!

If you knew you always wanted to be parents and knew in your heart, deep down, you were meant to be a mom or dad, would you ever expect it to be all at once?! What would be your first thought when the doctor announced there were two heartbeats; two brains; two souls growing inside of you!!?? Shock. Total shock would be my first reaction, then probably a little scared... OK very scared... then pure JOY! But still pretty scared. But mostly very, very happy!

Now imagine telling your friends + family, and getting their reaction, and telling them that not only are you expecting after all the years of planning and trying, but now you are expecting TWO babies! That's what happened when my dear friends, Sara + Brian made their news public. The overwhelming joy and mixed emotions of worry, fear, excitement, and happiness flew through me, as I'm sure it did everyone else. As a mom myself, I can only imagine what they were about to face, and yet, they face it with such courage, and gratitude. It is such a blessing to hear of your loved ones and friends receiving this beautiful gift, to carry, birth, and nurture a new life, and create the family they've always dreamed of. I'm overjoyed for them and know they are going to make THE best parents ever!

Sara and Brian are both teachers in San Diego and have an astounding amount of love and support around them between their families, friends and they're students. They are THE nicest people you will ever meet, and in fact, Brian is a very close, childhood friend of my boyfriend, Tory, who is super excited to have one of his best friends join the "Dad Club." Sara is probably the most active, fit, person I've ever met! Go figure, that she is pregnant with twins and still totally kicks ass at the gym, hiking, and running her PE class at a middle school. It's like being pregnant with twins doesn't even phase her!

I had the privilege and honor of photographing this lovely couple (and their pooch baby, Banjo) for my FIRST maternity shoot in January. Sara was around 25 weeks pregnant at the time, and was simply glowing! I can tell she is going to be a total pro at handling this mom-thing. These twins are already so very loved and are going have the best life with these two as their mom and dad.

Sara + Brian are expecting a boy + girl in April 2018, and we can hardly stand the wait to meet them, as I'm sure they can't either. Congrats you guys!
